Ginny sat down on her bed and rubbed her tired eyes. It had been a long day. She stopped rubbing her face and stroked her hands together. The dragon skin gloves, which were an essential safety feature for herbology, care of magical creatures and occasionally potions, did not agree with her skin and were making her hands rough, dry and aged. Ginny had worn her gloves for short periods, but today they were practically attached to her wrists. She had worn them for Herbology, Care of magical creatures and Potions, each lesson followed the other and such lengthy wear had taken its toll.

Ginny dived into her trunk and rummaged through her clothes. It was a real mess, very few of her garments were even folded. Her roommates had commented that she was quite messy, but that wasn’t totally true. Ginny was messy for a girl; but for a person who grew up in a house with seven men, her six brothers and her father, she was really quite neat. Her mother kept a decent house to say so many boys lived in it and had made a decent impression on Ginny.

There it was, a large blue glass jar stuck between a bra and a pair of socks. *Lady Malkins Moisturiser* the yellowed label read. Ginny smiled and pulled it from the trunk.

The thick grey liquid within smelled strongly of lime. Ginny read the instructions, you had to be careful with magical remedies, even when you’d grown up in a house full of them.

Simple. Ginny thought. She scooped up a generous portion onto her fingers and rubbed it into her hands, at once her skin started to tingle and felt better. Ginny sat back on her bed leaning her back against the wall. Ginny pulled up her shirt and looked down at her breasts. Hermione tested it and as the toy descended its string it let out a high-pitched banshee-like scream. Screaming yoyo’s had been banned because kids were unrolling them in front of their sleeping friends ears, causing temporary deafness in one side.  “Who sleeps here?” Hermione asked Ginny as she brushed some dust from her robes. Ginny shrugged her shoulders. “Sarah, someone. I don’t talk to her much. Never caught her last name.”

Hermione nodded and tucked the yoyo into a pocket in her robes.  “I’ll get her.” She muttered. Dropping her serious expression Hermione smiled and came and sat next to Ginny on her bed. Prefect work was over, normal Hermione had returned. Or as normal as Hermione ever got. “What are you doing?” She asked in a friendly tone. Ginny held up the tub of moisturiser. “Treating my hands, dragon hide gloves bother them.”

Hermione took the jar and read the label. “Wash it off.” She said in a concerned voice, not taking her eyes from the jar. “HUH.” Ginny stated confused. Hermione read the label out loud. ” ‘Lady Malkins Moisturiser. Rub into area and leave until tickling sensation fades away, then wash off and wait an hour and repeat treatment in necessary. Do not apply this potion if its Use by date is past. If accidentally used beyond expiration date, wash off as soon as possible as paralysing numbness to area will occur.’ ” Hermione pointed out the writing on the label which Ginny had mistaken for a scribble, it was in fact, the small print. ” Ginny, the expiration date is two months ago.”
