“A whole new world.” Jasmine sang out to the night air. “A dazzling place I never knew.” She looked to Aladdin at her side and found a flutter of excitement in her chest that was nothing to do with the exhilarating ride. “But when I’m way up here. Aladdin looked at Jasmine and smiled, showing his shining white teeth. Carpet came down to a gentle landing and finally to a complete stop. Aladdin shook the rug. “Carpet, come on. Fly.” But Carpet remained completely motionless.  “What’s going on?” Jasmine shivered and rubbed her arms. She was a little chilly after the flight in the sky. The cold air had hardened her nipples and they were rubbing against the material of her outfit sending tingles rising through her body. It was really quite distracting.  “I don’t know.” Aladdin admitted. “Maybe it just needs to rest a little while. I’ve never flown it this far before.”

Jasmine scowled and looked around the area. They were in the middle of the desert. There wasn’t anything for miles, not even a mountain or hillside. If the carpet could no longer fly they would never survive the trip back to the nearest town, not that they knew which direction the nearest town was in. She glanced upwards and gasped at the night sky; a full blanket of stars filled her vision. Countless millions of them. And the moon was shining as bright as any lamp ever could. “As far as places to get stranded go. This isn’t bad a suppose.” She said with a sigh. Aladdin looked around and nodded in agreement. Carpet had picked them a very nice looking spot to land. He looked to Jasmine and smiled again. Jasmine smiled in return, feeling that fluttering in her chest again. She lay down on her side and looked at Aladdin. Her fingers gently rubbed the material of the carpet beneath her.  “So, Prince Ali, do you go flying often?” She said in a strange tone that Aladdin was sure he recognised, but he wondered if perhaps he’d got it wrong.  “You could say it’s a new hobby of mine.” He said unsurely, still trying to think of ways that he could impress her into liking him. “I picked up this magic carpet on a grand adventure in an enchanted cave.”  “Really.” Jasmine said, but her tone suggested one of boredom. She’d heard so many suitors in the past over exaggerating stories of their exploits. Even if this one did contain magic it was still just another suitor trying to impress her with fancy words rather than just be themselves. But then again Ali had shown himself to be different several times. He was kind and caring and had even recognised her independence as a person and not as a thing to be given away like some kind of prize.
